Vermont High School Fall Sports Scores from the Opening Weekend
This past weekend, high school fall sports in Vermont kicked off with exciting matches across various sports, including soccer, field hockey, volleyball, golf, and cross-country running. Schools showcased their talents, and fans gathered to support their teams. Here are some highlights from the games.
Soccer
In a thrilling soccer match, Richford edged out Paine Mountain with a final score of 4-3. Burlington also had an energized return to their home field, defeating Mount Mansfield 2-1. Shedrick Bishula and Quinn Sessions scored goals for Burlington, while Raphael Campanile netted one for Mount Mansfield.
Another notable match was Harwood’s convincing win over U-32 with a score of 3-0. Eamon Langlais contributed significantly with a goal and an assist.
Field Hockey
Rice delivered a dominant performance in field hockey, shutting out Middlebury 7-0. Violet Clough was particularly impressive, scoring three goals and providing an assist.
In another field hockey match, Champlain Valley defeated Burr and Burton, finishing strong with a 6-1 victory. Emery Thompson led the way with two goals and two assists.
