Tim James Appointed to Board of Directors, Elevating West Columbia’s Chamber Leadership

Hello, West Columbia!

We’ve got some exciting news to share about our local community and leadership! Last week, during an annual conference up in the beautiful mountains of Blowing Rock, North Carolina, our very own Tim James, who serves as the president and CEO of the Greater Cayce – West Columbia Chamber of Commerce, was appointed to the Board of Directors for the SC and NC Chamber Executives. This is a big deal! His peers selected him for a valuable three-year term, a testament to his hard work and dedication.

A Year of Achievements

Just last October, our Chamber bagged the prestigious title of <Chamber of the Year>. That’s no small feat! It’s a shining example of how the leadership under Tim has flourished. Tim shared with us how, over the past year, being actively involved with professionals from both North and South Carolina has empowered our CWC Chamber and brought in rich expertise back to our community.

What Does This Mean for Us?

Tim James isn’t just making waves individually; he’s bringing along our lovely West Columbia with him! Chamber Chair Lindsey Miles couldn’t agree more. “Our Chamber Board unanimously voted to support Tim in this new position. His networking efforts with executives across both states come with a huge return on investment for our community,” she said. It’s refreshing to see such passionate leadership aiming to mold the future for Chambers regionally and, by extension, the cities and towns they represent.

Passing the Torch

But that’s not all, folks! During this fantastic conference, not only did Tim ascend to new heights, but he also had the honor of passing along the title of Chamber of the Year to two outstanding Chambers for 2025: York County and Hilton Head. Quite the honor to bestow upon fellow Chambers, wouldn’t you say? It goes to show that collaboration and sharing achievements are vital components in nurturing a thriving business community.

What’s the Weather Looking Like?

As we enjoy the fantastic news, let’s talk about the weather! Today, we’re looking at a generally sunny disposition, perfect for heading out to celebrate or mingle with neighbors! We anticipate a high of around 73°F, with a gentle breeze coming from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph. It seems like a great day for some outdoor fun or catching up with friends. Just a heads up, though, we might see a few clouds drifting through in the afternoon, along with a slight chance of an unexpected rain shower. So, grab that light jacket if you tend to get chilly!

Wrap Up!

Overall, it’s a bright day not only in the sky but also for our local community, which is growing and thriving thanks to the hard work of leaders like Tim James. With exciting opportunities opening up for professional development and collaborations on both sides of our state line, West Columbia is certainly on the map! Keep your spirits high, neighbors; our community is headed in a great direction!
