Townville, SC – A Thanksgiving Day hunting accident has left a family devastated after 43-year-old Michael K. Roger died following a fall from a tree stand while hunting with his son. The unfortunate incident occurred on November 23, 2023, around 4:30 p.m. in the 8000 block of Highway 24.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Medshore Ambulance Service, the Anderson County Fire Department, Lifeflight, and the Department of Natural Resources quickly responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, they discovered that Roger’s son, just 11 years old, had already begun performing CPR on his father, showing remarkable presence of mind. EMS personnel continued resuscitative efforts before transporting Roger to a local emergency room.
