Lexington County Teacher Accused of Assaulting Student Turns Herself In
COLUMBIA, S.C. – A distressing development arose in Lexington County when Alice Johnson, a 61-year-old teacher employed by Kelly Services as a substitute teacher, was accused of assaulting students. The accused teacher voluntarily turned herself into authorities on Tuesday.
Alleged Assaults at Forts Pond Elementary
Johnson worked at Forts Pond Elementary for the day on 1st February. However, what was supposed to be a normal school day took a dark turn when Johnson was purportedly involved in violent episodes with the students. An incident report from the Pelion Police Department narrated one incident where Johnson supposedly grabbed a child by the shoulders, shoving him, and subsequently allegedly holding him by the neck with both her hands.
A second student, in a separate account, claimed to have been pushed to the ground by Johnson. Despite the alarming nature of these instances, neither of the children suffered any physical injuries, as per the report.
Surrender to Authorities
Facing the accusations, Johnson opted to surrender herself to the authorities and was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center on Tuesday. She was released the same day after posting bail.
Criminal Charges
