South Prairie-Max Volleyball Star Reaches 1,000 Career Kills

In South Prairie, North Dakota, senior volleyball player Azjiah Trader has reached an impressive milestone early this season by recording her 1,000th career kill. Trader continues to shine with her performance as a standout member of the highly regarded South Prairie-Max Royals volleyball team.

Trader’s skill at the net is described as near-perfect, a result of her dedication and consistent practice. The saying, “Perfect practice makes perfect,” is fitting for Trader, who exemplifies what it takes to excel in competitive sports. Mastering volleyball requires countless hours of practice, where skill and teamwork become critical for success on the court.

The NCR All-Stars Indoor High Performance/RTDP program has played a significant role in Trader’s development as an athlete. According to Beth Modaff, the Event, Tournament & High Performance Director for North Country Region – USA Volleyball, this program allows talented junior volleyball players to learn from experienced coaches and compete at a high level, including the USA All-Star Championships. This event is unique as it follows international volleyball rules.

Trader successfully completed the rigorous selection process to earn her place on the NCR NIKE U20 All-Star Team, joining a select group of athletes from the region. The process involves tryouts, selection camps, and intensive training, which ultimately prepares players to compete against the best teams in the nation.

Trader’s remarkable achievement does not stand alone. Fellow athletes from the region, like Zoe Zarr and Mackenzie Dufner, have also distinguished themselves at similar events, showcasing the depth of talent present in the area. Additionally, younger athletes like Adalyn Harper and Bristol Bolton are already on their way to following in those footsteps, having received invitations to upcoming All-Star camps.

The pathway to success in volleyball requires an understanding of both club and school programs, as expressed by coach Brandon Robinson. He noted the differences in time commitment and the variety of ages on high school teams, which could impact the training and development of young athletes. Despite the challenges, players like Trader demonstrate that hard work and dedication can lead to remarkable accomplishments on the court.

As Trader continues to add to her tally of career kills, she serves as an inspiration to teammates and aspiring athletes throughout the region, proving that commitment to perfecting one’s craft truly pays off.
