Powerball Jackpot Reaches $50 Million After No Grand Prize Winner in Sept. 10 Drawing

JACKSON, MS – The Powerball jackpot has climbed to $50 million for the upcoming drawing on Saturday, September 13, following no winners for the top prize in the drawing that took place on Wednesday, September 10. Those who match all five numbers plus the Powerball will have the option of a one-time cash payout of $23.4 million before taxes.

The winning numbers drawn on September 10 were: 28, 37, 42, 50, 53 with the Powerball number being 19. As No players were able to correctly pick all winning numbers in this drawing, the jackpot continues to accrue, leading to the current significant sum heading into the next drawing.

For the September 13 drawing, there were no jackpot winners reported. However, four lucky players managed to match five numbers in this round, each taking home $1 million prizes. These winning tickets were sold in California, Iowa, Massachusetts, and Maryland. Additionally, in New York, two additional winning Powerball tickets matched four out of five numbers, with one ticket worth $50,000 and another ticket with the Power Play option worth $100,000. Another third-prize winning ticket worth $50,000 was sold at Walmart in Newark, New York.

The next Powerball drawing is set for Monday, September 15, at 11 p.m. ET. Tickets for the Powerball can be purchased for $2 each at various retail locations including convenience stores, gas stations, grocery stores, and even airport terminals in some places. Some states also provide options for purchasing tickets online.

To participate, players are required to select six numbers: five numbers from the white balls ranging from 1 to 69, and one red Powerball number from 1 to 26. There is also an option for players to use a “Power Play,” which costs an additional $1 and can multiply winnings for non-jackpot prizes by factors of 2, 3, 4, 5, or 10 times. Additionally, players can choose the “Quick Pick” option, allowing for a computer-generated selection of numbers.

Powerball drawings take place three times a week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Because no one won the jackpot in the latest drawing, the cash prize continues to increase, catching the attention of many prospective players looking to strike it rich.

Under current regulations, participants must be at least 18 years old to play, though the age requirement is raised to 21 years in Arizona and 19 years in Nebraska. Given the growing jackpot and the increased interest from players, many lottery enthusiasts across the country are eagerly anticipating the outcome of the upcoming draw.

For those interested in participating, it is advisable to check local regulations and validate if the Power Play option is available in their respective states. Various platforms, such as Jackpocket, the official digital lottery courier of the USA TODAY Network, facilitate online ticket purchases in select regions.
