Exciting New Development on the Horizon in Lexington County!

Lexington County is buzzing with anticipation as construction for the much-awaited Platt Springs Crossing takes shape in the Red Bank area! If you haven’t heard, this mixed-use development is set to take up a whopping 57 acres right between 5400 and 5470 Platt Springs Road. And guess what? It’s halfway there, with developers reporting that the project is already 60% complete as of August 19.

What Can We Expect?

So, what’s all the fuss about? For starters, the shining star of this development is a gigantic 51,000 square-foot Lowes Foods grocery store, which will be at the heart of the center. Surrounding this grocery haven, you’ll find 10,000 square feet of retail space, perfect for shopping and leisure. Plus, there’s an additional 8,400 square-foot spot dedicated entirely to medical-related retail. It sounds like everything you might need all in one place!

This ambitious project launched by the Lexington Land Development Company is projected to cost around $65 million. It’s a big deal for the community, opening up fresh opportunities for local jobs and services.

A Feast of Options

As for the businesses calling Platt Springs Crossing home, there’s an exciting mix on the way! We’re talking about popular spots like Chipotle, Planet Fitness, Whataburger, and Panda Express. If you’re in need of auto care, Firestone is also on the list, along with healthcare options such as Heartland Dental and Well Street Urgent Care. Need some home improvement tools? Harbor Freight has got you covered! And let’s not forget about the little ones—Big Blue Marble Academy will be making its entrance as well as a regional bank to cater to your financial needs. More businesses are set to be announced in the months ahead!

Residential Opportunities

But it’s not just retail and dining that’s in the works! The project will also introduce 142 townhouses to the area, with sitework kicking off in September. Can you imagine moving into a brand-new townhouse in a vibrant community like this? The first of these homes is expected to be available by the third quarter of 2025.

Construction Updates

And there’s already visible progress! Vertical construction has begun for the eagerly awaited Chipotle. In fact, within the next 60 days, we can expect groundbreakings for other popular eateries including Panda Express, Whataburger, and Harbor Freight, as well as the Big Blue Marble Academy and the medical retail space.

With all these exciting developments on the horizon, Platt Springs Crossing is shaping up to be the go-to spot for both shopping and living in Lexington County. It’s a transformative project that promises to enhance the community’s landscape while catering to the needs of residents and visitors alike.

So, what do you think? Are you excited about the changes coming to Lexington County? Keep your eyes peeled for updates as they continue to break ground on this impressive development!
