Northeast Ohio High School Football: Week 8 Highlights and Surprising Showdowns

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Week 8 of high school football in Northeast Ohio was full of exciting matchups and impressive performances across various conferences. Fans got a chance to witness some high-scoring games and a few surprises as teams pushed through the season.

In the Chagrin Valley Conference, Chagrin Division, Hawken had a strong showing against Orange, winning decisively with a score of 50-13. Lutheran West also pulled off a close win, edging out West Geauga with a score of 23-20.

In the Metro Division, Cuyahoga Heights dominated Beachwood, finishing the game with a 39-6 victory. Meanwhile, in the Valley Division, Kirtland delivered a shutout, defeating Chagrin Falls 49-0.

The Cleveland West Conference saw Buckeye score big against Normandy with a commanding 59-13 win. In another thrilling match, Rocky River narrowly defeated Westlake, securing a 28-19 victory.

The Greater Cleveland Conference featured Strongsville as they blanked Shaker Heights 50-0, while Mentor cruised past Brunswick with a score of 45-14.

Switching to the Lake Erie League, Maple Heights put on a strong performance against Bedford, finishing with a score of 40-6. Lorain also had an outstanding night, dominating Shaw with a 60-7 win.

In the Suburban League, American Conference, Copley outpaced Barberton, winning 48-27, while Highland had an easy time against Revere, winning 41-0.

Meanwhile, Akron City Series saw Ellet defeat North 28-0, making their mark this week. In nonconference action, Archbishop Hoban managed a 20-0 shutout over Glenville.
