Columbia Welcomes 2024 With Fun-filled Events for Everyone!

As December rolls to a close and we’re all gearing up to say goodbye to another year, Columbia is buzzing with excitement for the New Year’s Eve 2024 celebrations. Whether you’re a family looking for festive activities or an adult ready to dance the night away, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in the heart of our lovely town!

Gliding into the New Year at The Kitchen Grill and Games

If you’re looking for a cozy and festive way to kick off the New Year, look no further than the temporary ice skating rink at The Kitchen Grill and Games on Discovery Parkway. The rink opened its icy doors on December 15 and is ready for skaters until approximately March 1. With sessions starting every 90 minutes, it’s a great way to gather the family for some winter fun! Skating fees are a reasonable $11, and don’t forget to rent some skates for just $4.

After skating, why not challenge your family to an exciting game in the game room? With foosball, ping pong, shuffleboard, and indoor pickleball courts, there’s never a dull moment. And when you get hungry, head over to the restaurant where you can indulge in delicious bar and grill-style food. The skating hours are as follows:

  • Monday to Thursday: 2:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Friday to Saturday: 2:30 p.m. – 11 p.m.
  • Sunday: 11:30 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Game room hours differ slightly, allowing you plenty of time to enjoy:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Friday to Saturday: 8 a.m. – 11 p.m.
  • Sunday: 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Make sure to check out The Kitchen’s Facebook page for any updates regarding New Year’s hours!

First Day Hikes to Start the Year Right

On January 1, families can also participate in guided hikes across Missouri State Parks and Historic Areas. Different hikes will offer varying distances and difficulties, allowing families to pick an adventure that suits their comfort level. It’s the perfect way to work off those holiday treats and enjoy the great outdoors as you set intentions for the new year.

Nights to Remember for Adults

$15-$45, and remember to be 18 or older to join in on the fun!

Head over to Rose Music Hall to catch local band The Hallers alongside The Spooklights at 9 p.m. Tickets here are priced between $15 and $18. Also, there’s a downtown nightclub cranking up the energy with DJs and bottle service starting at $35, though make sure you’re 21 or older to attend.

Masquerade Balls and Jazz Bashs

The Broadway is hosting an elegant masquerade ball at 8 p.m. with music from DJ Vanquish, party favors, and, of course, a midnight champagne toast—tickets for this affair start at $25. If jazz is more your scene, don’t miss out on The Broadway Brewery’s New Year’s Eve Jazz Bash, featuring local jazz ensembles and a scrumptious four-course meal for a reasonable $60.

For a wild night of dancing, check out DJ Beatz leading the party at The Social Room. Entry fees range between $20-$40, and attendees must be 21 or older to get in on the action. The 50 Yard Line sports bar and grill is putting on a New Year’s celebration with live music, free food, and complimentary champagne—tickets range from $10-$20—a real treat!

Columbia is truly the place to be this New Year’s Eve, with a wonderful mix of family-friendly fun and adult festivities! Get ready to celebrate and welcome 2024 with open arms!
