Nashua High School Sports Update – October 13, 2024
Nashua high school fall sports teams are overcoming a recent setback as they deal with the closing of their home field due to safety concerns. This situation has certainly dampened the spirits of the players and coaches, but with the season reaching its final weeks, the teams are pushing forward with determination. The local officials are actively working on plans to replace the worn field, which has been a top priority for maintaining safety and providing a reliable space for sports activities.
In other exciting news, the story of sophomore quarterback Nate Bowen from Bishop Guertin High School continues to gain momentum. Just one week after impressively leading his team to a victory against Nashua North with a last-second throw, Bowen showcased his versatility on Saturday night at Merrimack College’s Duane Stadium. This time, he used his powerful legs to secure a win over the Keene High Blackbirds, further establishing himself as a standout player in the league.
Meanwhile, Campbell High School’s running back, Scott Hershberger, is making headlines for his outstanding performance. In a recent match against Epping/Newmarket, he rushed for an impressive 182 yards and scored three touchdowns, helping his team secure a 34-14 victory. With this feat, he unofficially became the leading career rusher at Campbell, much to the delight of head coach Glen Costello and the rest of the coaching staff, as they celebrated their team’s perfect 6-0 record.
As the fall season progresses, local athletes continue to shine and create memorable moments. The Nashua community looks forward to what the coming weeks will bring as teams wrap up their seasons and pursue their goals.
