Born on August 1, 1947, in Columbia, South Carolina, William LeRoy Simpson was the son of the late LeRoy and Betty Jane Duffy Simpson. He dedicated 25 years of service to the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant. His military career included significant positions within the service, emphasizing leadership and commitment to his country.
Simpson was notably active in the community, particularly with American Legion Post 166, where he served as the 6th District Commander. In 2022, he took on the role of National Commander for the 40/8, a service group dedicated to veterans.
