The first memorial service will be held at J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel located at 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, SC, starting at 1:00 PM Eastern time. The second service will occur at American Legion Post 166, at 116 Howe Hall Road, Goose Creek, SC, at 5:00 PM Eastern time.

Born on August 1, 1947, in Columbia, South Carolina, William LeRoy Simpson was the son of the late LeRoy and Betty Jane Duffy Simpson. He dedicated 25 years of service to the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant. His military career included significant positions within the service, emphasizing leadership and commitment to his country.

Simpson was notably active in the community, particularly with American Legion Post 166, where he served as the 6th District Commander. In 2022, he took on the role of National Commander for the 40/8, a service group dedicated to veterans. His involvement showcased his dedication to supporting fellow veterans and giving back to the community.

In addition to his military service, Simpson was a member of the Masonic Fraternity and Shriner’s, further illustrating his commitment to community service and leadership. He had a keen interest in recreational activities, often enjoying golf and poker games every Thursday with friends.

His siblings, Loretta Young of Indiantown, FL, Edward Simpson (Denise) of Chapin, SC, and Duffy Simpson (Angie) of Blythewood, SC, along with numerous nieces and nephews, also mourn his passing.
