Mountlake Terrace Dominates Lynnwood with a 9-0 Victory

Mountlake Terrace, WA — In a dominating performance, the Mountlake Terrace Hawks defeated the Lynnwood Royals with an impressive score of 9-0 on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. The game showcased a variety of scoring talent, led by Claire August, who wowed fans with 5 goals and 3 assists. Other contributors included Abby Schmicker, Ally Villalobos-VanSlooten, Sadie Parker, and Eva Gomez, each scoring a goal.

The Hawks’ defense was equally strong, securing a shutout with goalkeepers Jordyn Stokes and Daphne Ostberg combining for the clean sheet. With this victory, Mountlake Terrace improved its league record to 4-6-1 and its overall record to 4-8-1. Conversely, Lynnwood dropped to 0-10 in the league and 0-14 overall.

Looking ahead, the Hawks are set to face Archbishop Murphy on Thursday, October 24, at 7:30 p.m.. Meanwhile, Lynnwood will play against Shorewood at 7 p.m. on the same day.


In swimming news, Mountlake Terrace also found success, defeating Lynnwood with a score of 103-65. Key individual performers included Katherine Lombard, who won the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:10.76 and the 50 yard freestyle with 27.83 seconds. Lisa Beam shone in the pool with wins in both the 100 yard butterfly and 500 yard freestyle, clocking 1:06.86 and 5:38.46, respectively.

The Hawks’ next meet is the Edmonds School District Championship Meet on Saturday, October 26, at 2:45 p.m. at Lynnwood Pool, while Lynnwood will face Mariner on Thursday, October 24, also at 2:45 p.m..


In volleyball, Edmonds-Woodway edged out Marysville Getchell with a score of 3-1, while Shorewood managed a close victory against Lynnwood, winning 3-2. Edmonds-Woodway’s standout player was Neeva Travis, with 22 assists and 7 digs. Their next match will be against Mountlake Terrace on October 23, at 7 p.m..
