Florida Woman Goes Missing in South Carolina, Abandoned Vehicle Discovered with Keys Inside

Florida Woman Disappears in South Carolina: Empty Vehicle Found with Keys Inside

The Mysterious Case of the Missing Florida Woman

A Florida woman has unsettlingly vanished in South Carolina, leading to an extensive and ongoing search operation. Identified as Jessica Rapsys, 27, she was reported missing on August 13th, around 8 PM. Her empty vehicle was found by officials in the remote Allendale County off a dirt road, with the keys ominously left inside.

An address on a dirt road by Creek Plantation – a private plot of land currently used for horse breeding and located in Martins – was provided by the callers to the Allendale County dispatch. The details surrounding Rapsys’ presence in this remote region remain unclear to date.

Rapsys Vehicle Found: Further Complications

Allendale County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy, Steven Robinson shared that Rapsys’ vehicle was discovered stuck on the railroad tracks, effectively leading to a halt in the railway traffic in the area. A preliminary check-up of the vehicle found it empty, with no one near the scene.

Adding to the perplexing circumstances, the area surrounding the location of the vehicle is reported to be densely forested and swampy, conditions worsened by the recent heavy rainfall. Its remote location instigated the need for additional assistance, including a search team on horseback from Creek Plantation.

Extensive Search Operations Initiated

To facilitate a broader and more effective search, the sheriff’s department called upon authorities from neighboring counties. Hampton County responded with deploying bloodhounds to the scene, while the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division dispatched a tracking team on the evening of Rapsys’ reported disappearance.

Further support came the next morning from the Department of Energy aviation unit that launched two helicopters to conduct grid searches in collaboration with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. Additional four-wheelers were dispatched by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.

A Plea for Information

Rapsys, described as a 27-year-old woman with blonde hair and brown eyes standing approximately 5’6″ tall, remains missing. The local residents, friends, and family have joined in the desperate efforts to find Rapsys, spreading the word, circulating fliers, and constantly reaching out to authorities for updates.

The family, who traveled to South Carolina to aid in the search, remains appreciative of the exhaustive efforts by local law enforcement agencies to locate Jessica.

The authorities are urging anyone with information about Rapsys’ disappearance to make contact with them through the indicated lines: 803-584-7067 or the non-emergency communication line at 803-584-8152.
