Manitowoc – The Menasha Bluejays had an impressive performance against the Manitowoc Ships on Friday night, winning the game with a final score of 42-0. This victory boosts the Bluejays’ record to 4-1 in the Fox River Classic Conference-South, making them eligible for the playoffs.
In the first half, Menasha took control with strong plays from quarterback Logan Liegl and receiver Jaydon Lanser. Lanser caught two touchdown passes, one from 19 yards and another from 10 yards. The offensive play continued with Elijah Gigl contributing significantly by rushing for 148 yards and scoring three touchdowns on 20 carries.
The scoring continued in the third quarter with Gigl adding a 12-yard touchdown run and then a 5-yard run later in the same quarter. To cap off the game in the fourth quarter, Beau Thompson rushed for a 6-yard touchdown. The Bluejays clearly dominated play throughout the night, leaving the Ships scoreless.
