In an exciting volleyball clash on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Meadowdale secured a decisive 3-0 victory against Shorecrest at Meadowdale High School. This win marks a much-needed confidence boost for Meadowdale, improving their overall record to 4-9 and their league standing to 2-7.
Meadowdale showcased strong performances from key players. Violet DuBois was a standout with an impressive 10 kills and contributed 3 aces to the team’s success. Following her, Jackie Tang added to the offense with 9 kills and 2 aces. Not to be overlooked, Andrea Rios was exceptional on defense, recording 13 digs along with 3 serves that caught Shorecrest off-guard.
On the other side of the court, Shorecrest struggled to rally momentum, now holding a record of 2-11 overall and 2-6 in league play after this match. The Shorecrest squad fought hard but couldn’t manage to secure a set win.
Looking ahead, Meadowdale will face Archbishop Murphy in their next match on Wednesday, October 23, at 7 p.m. The Archbishops are riding high after defeating Mountlake Terrace with a score of 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-19), showcasing their dominance in the season with a remarkable record of 13-1 overall and 10-0 in league play.
In the loss for Mountlake Terrace, individual efforts came from Sarah Simula, who recorded 6 kills, and Emmy Alley, with 6 assists and a kill. Mountlake Terrace will be looking to improve their record of 4-9 overall and 1-7 in league play when they face Edmonds-Woodway on the same night.
