In Minneapolis, high school sports teams showcased their skills and determination in a series of exciting games this past week. There were strong performances across various sports, highlighting the competitive spirit in the area.

Basketball Highlights

On the basketball court, Mayer Lutheran defeated Plainview-Elgin-Millville with a final score of 63 to 48. Red Wing put on an impressive performance as well, breezing past Randolph with a score of 89 to 65. Meanwhile, in other notable games, Murray County Central edged out Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s 57 to 46, and Tracy-Milroy-Balaton narrowly defeated Sleepy Eye 82 to 77. Two Harbors dominated Chisholm, winning by a significant margin of 75 to 46.

In the metropolitan area, Chaska took the win against Centennial 64 to 36. Cretin-Derham Hall showed a powerful offense against Holy Family, wrapping up the game at 75 to 30. Delano had a solid victory over Edina 72 to 45, while DeLaSalle and Minnehaha Academy had a closely contested game, with DeLaSalle emerging victorious 68 to 62.

Hockey Action

In hockey, Blaine faced off against Eastview and came away with a strong 4 to 1 victory. Centennial had an impressive game against Mahtomedi, winning 6 to 2. Champlin Park also secured a win over Woodbury 4 to 2, while Cretin-Derham Hall played to a tie with Hermantown at 4 to 4.

Duluth Marshall was particularly sharp, defeating South St. Paul with a score of 11 to 2. East Ridge managed to beat Rochester Mayo by 4 to 2, and Irondale had a solid win against Marshall 5 to 2 as well. Other notable games included Minnetonka beating Andover 3 to 2 and Waconia shutting out Greenway 5 to 0.
