High School Sports Update: Lady Lions Shine
Last night in Lafayette, the Lady Lions Basketball Team celebrated a big win against Opelousas High with a score of 66 – 36. This exciting victory boosts their confidence as they prepare for their final game in the Southside Tournament, scheduled for Saturday morning at 9 AM. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the girls as they aim to finish strong. Go Lady Lions!
In other sports news, the Lady Lions Varsity Soccer Team also had a fantastic night, defeating Catholic Senior High with an impressive score of 4-0. The team’s standout players, Brea Bailey and Haylan Chapman, each scored two goals, demonstrating their skill on the field. The junior varsity team showed their prowess as well, with a narrow victory at 1-0, courtesy of a goal by Quentizicalli. Congratulations to all the Lady Lions players!
The Lions Wrestling Team showcased outstanding performance during the Thanksgiving break, participating in five different tournaments. Collectively, they earned a remarkable 44 medals, which includes 13 first place, 8 second place, 9 third place, and 14 fourth place finishes. The girls placed first overall in the Dutchtown and East Ascension Tournaments, while the boys secured second overall. Great job to all the wrestlers, and best of luck this weekend at Brusly, Acadiana, and Rayne!
