Chapin, SC – In a move that is generating excitement in the community, Ken Loveless, a well-known contractor and longtime supporter of District Five, has officially filed to run for a seat on the Lexington-Richland Five School Board. The election is set to take place on November 5th.
Loveless is vying for one of the Lexington County positions on the board. He expressed his confidence as he kicks off his campaign, stating, “I have been getting out and laying the groundwork for this campaign and the citizens are excited!” He emphasized the community’s desire for school board representatives who prioritize transparency and are dedicated problem-solvers.
Throughout his time in the area, Loveless has actively participated in various District Five initiatives, including contributing to the District Five Foundation and SkillsUSA, an organization focused on preparing students for the workforce. He has emerged as a leader in Irmo and Chapin concerning workforce development for students.
“It is important that we prepare our students for college and have the teachers ready to prepare them,” Loveless said. He underscored that education should not be a one-size-fits-all approach, emphasizing the need for tailored strategies to equip students for both college and the workforce, supported by committed teachers. Loveless has already taken steps toward this, including efforts to connect students with potential job opportunities, which many parents and students have welcomed.
Accompanying Loveless during the candidate filing was his wife, Jondy, who previously served as a School Board Trustee. This support reflects Loveless’s deep-rooted connections and commitment to the educational community.
