Irmo Community Comes Together to Honor Fallen Firefighter

Hey there, Irmo! Today we’ve got some heartfelt news coming your way. If you remember the tragedy that struck our town on May 26, 2023, when we lost beloved firefighter James “J” Michael Muller while he was bravely fighting an apartment fire, you’ll want to hear about this incredible initiative happening right now.

Merchandise for a Cause

The Irmo Fire District and the Irmo Fire Foundation have teamed up with a local gem, Hometown 803, to create a special line of fundraising merchandise in J’s honor. This new collection isn’t just about cool shirts and hats; it’s about coming together as a community to support the ongoing training for our firefighters.

So, what’s the scoop? Well, for every hat or shirt sold from this new Give Back Collection, a portion will go straight to the Muller Memorial Training Fund. This fund was set up this year on the family’s request and aims to give our brave men and women of the Irmo Fire District the training opportunities that J always aspired to. It’s a way to keep his spirit alive and make sure our firefighters have the best training possible.

Getting Involved

Now, if you’re feeling inspired and want to support this worthy cause, you can get in on the action by pre-ordering your gear! The pre-sale is live right now and will be running until September 11. It’s a great time to snag some awesome gear while helping a fantastic cause. Just hop on over to irmofirefoundation.org for all the details and to place your order. Let’s show our support!

Honor and Remember

J Muller was more than just a firefighter; he was a hero in our community who dedicated his life to helping others. This initiative is not just about fundraising; it’s about honoring his legacy. With every stitch and every sale, we’re keeping his memory alive and ensuring that the future of our firefighters is as bright as it can be.

And let’s not forget why this matters so much. Firefighting is a tough job that requires extensive training and education. The Muller Memorial Training Fund is here to help ensure our firefighters receive ongoing training that is top-notch. Just thinking about what J did for us pushes us to be better supporters of our Fire District—let’s all step up!

Positive Vibes Ahead!

As we gather our orders for this merchandise, let’s also take a moment to appreciate the sunny skies we’ve got today in Irmo! With a high of 83°F, it’s a perfect day to enjoy the outdoors and think about ways to give back. A light breeze from the northeast at about 10 to 15 mph is keeping things comfortable. And for those who like a chill evening, we’re looking at a low of 62°F tonight. So, whether you’re out shopping or relaxing at home, it’s a fantastic day to think about how we can support our local heroes.

So, what do you say, Irmo? Let’s rally together, grab some of that merchandise, and honor the legacy of J Muller while supporting our firefighters who bravely keep our community safe each day. Together we can make a difference!
