Dominion Energy Donates Over $800,000 to South Carolina Nonprofits This Holiday Season

Cayce, S.C. – Spreading Holiday Cheer with Generosity!

In a heartwarming move just in time for the holiday season, the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation has awarded over $800,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations throughout South Carolina! This incredible initiative is part of a larger effort that has seen a whopping $2.4 million granted across six states that Dominion Energy serves. Talk about giving back!

Supporting Our Community!

Cayce and its neighboring areas, including West Columbia, Springdale, and more, are set to benefit from the generous funding aimed at supporting community needs. The grants focus on various sectors like human needs, environmental stewardship, education, and community vitality. It’s clear that Dominion Energy recognizes the tireless efforts of local nonprofits that work day in and day out to make our Palmetto State a better place to live and thrive.

A Word from the President

Keller Kissam, the president of Dominion Energy South Carolina, expressed his gratitude for the work done by these nonprofits. He stated, “Our local non-profits are always helping our neighbors and making our beautiful Palmetto State an even better place to proudly call home.” Can we hear a collective “Amen!”? With the holidays upon us, it’s a perfect reminder of our responsibility to look out for one another. Keller emphasized, “We are our brothers’ keeper, and we are our sisters’ keeper.”

Notable Local Recipients

Let’s take a closer look at some of the recipients of these grants:

  • Family of Promise – Based in Aiken, SC, this organization focuses on eviction prevention and shelter diversion specifically for families in distress.
  • Homeless No More – Located right in Columbia, SC, this nonprofit offers a breath of hope for at-risk and homeless families by providing shelter and supportive services.
  • Lowcountry Land Trust Inc. – Situated in Charleston, SC, they are enhancing community spaces like the Beefield Community Park, which celebrates native biodiversity and the Gullah Geechee heritage.

These organizations are just a few examples of the fantastic work being done across the region! It’s inspiring to see how local groups are stepping up to tackle pressing social issues, making life just a bit easier for our neighbors who need it the most.

Looking Ahead to More Opportunities

But wait—there’s more! If you’re involved with or know of a nonprofit organization in the area, the next round of grants is just around the corner. Applications will be accepted from January 13 to February 24, 2025. So mark your calendars, and let your favorite local charity know they can apply!
