High School Sports Recap: October 1, 2024

Lake Stevens Volleyball Takes Down Lynnwood

In a lively match on Tuesday, October 1, the Lake Stevens volleyball team defeated Lynnwood with a score of 3-1 (25-22, 25-8, 27-29, 25-20). Lake Stevens showcased their talent through standout performances, particularly from Laura Eichert, who recorded an impressive 31 kills, along with 15 digs and 1 ace. Other notable players included Jayci Scrivens with 14 kills and 11 digs, and Ella Iseminger who contributed 14 digs and 3 aces.

Lynnwood also had solid performances, especially from Sammy Holmer, who achieved 14 kills and 2 aces. Additionally, Ady Morgan recorded 24 assists and 3 aces. With this match, Lake Stevens improves to 4-2 while Lynnwood slips to 3-3. Lynnwood’s next match is against Shorewood on Thursday, October 3 at 7:15 p.m.

Edmonds-Woodway Remains Undefeated in Volleyball

Edmonds-Woodway continued their strong performance in volleyball, beating Mountlake Terrace 3-1 (25-18, 25-21, 24-26, 25-16). Sawyer Hiatt led Edmonds-Woodway with 18 kills and 4 digs. Mountlake Terrace showed some effort, with Sarah Simula scoring 8 kills.

Edmonds-Woodway is now 3-0 in the league and 6-0 overall, while Mountlake Terrace has a record of 1-3 in the league and 2-4 overall. Their next matches are on October 2, with Edmonds-Woodway visiting Meadowdale and Mountlake Terrace hosting Cascade.

Archbishop Murphy Dominates Meadowdale

In another match, Archbishop Murphy secured a convincing win against Meadowdale, sweeping them 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-14). Laura Esping led with 6 kills and 13 assists. Archbishop Murphy’s record now stands at 3-0 in the league and 6-1 overall, while Meadowdale has yet to win a league match, sitting at 0-4.

Edmonds-Woodway Tennis Triumphs Over Lynnwood

In tennis action, Edmonds-Woodway clinched a convincing victory over Lynnwood with a scoreline of 5-2. In singles matches, Steven Anderson and Nalu Akiona dominated their opponents, winning with scores of 6-0, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-1 respectively. Victor Nguyen

Mountlake Terrace Tennis Scores Big Against Marysville Getchell

In another notable tennis matchup, Mountlake Terrace secured a dominating victory over Marysville Getchell with a score of 7-0. They showcased their skills with swift victories in both singles and doubles matches. This win lifts their record to 3-6.

Mountlake Terrace will aim to keep their momentum when they meet Bothell on October 2.

Shorecrest Wins Against Meadowdale in Tennis

Shorecrest triumphed over Meadowdale with a score of 5-2 in another tennis clash. Indigo Vining and Ashton Johnson won their singles matches convincingly, adding to Shorecrest’s strong position this season. With the victory, Shorecrest improves to 5-3.

Meadowdale will be looking to rebound in their next match against Shorewood.
