High School Sports Thriving in Minneapolis: Key Performances and Upcoming Tournaments

Minneapolis was buzzing with excitement as high school sports reached a thrilling stage in recent games. Several teams showcased their skills in soccer, cross-country, and volleyball, as they battled to secure their places in the next rounds of their respective tournaments.

In adapted soccer, the game between Rochester and St. Paul Humboldt ended with Rochester triumphing over Humboldt with a score of 8-5. The players delivered an intense match, showing great teamwork and determination.

Cross-country races also provided thrilling moments. Over at the Highland National Golf Course, the Class 3A boys witnessed teams aiming for state meet qualifiers. Stillwater claimed victory with an impressive score of 30, followed by Two Rivers with 47 points. Standout runners included Dylan Rinkier, who completed the race in 15:55.7.

On the girls’ side, the competition heated up as White Bear Lake secured a close second with a score of 58, edging out St. Paul Central who finished with 60 points after a tiebreaker. Logan Bailey from White Bear Lake led the race with a time of 18:43.1.

The soccer scene was equally captivating. In the Class 3A state tournament quarterfinals, Mpls. Washburn dominated Bemidji with a score of 3-0, while Edina girls had a stunning 5-0 victory against Duluth East.

In volleyball, several Section matches took place. Lakeville North showcased their prowess by defeating Rochester Century with a score of 25-15, 25-11, 25-9. This win demonstrated their strong preparation and tactics on the court.

Overall, the energy around Minneapolis high schools was palpable with many teams pushing through to the next stage of their tournaments. With each game, athletes are proving their mettle and vying for spots in the championships ahead.
