High School Sports Roundup: Soccer Action in the Treasure Coast Area
In the Treasure Coast area, several high school soccer teams showcased their skills during matches held from November 11 to 16. Here are the highlights from the week’s competitions.
Pine came out strong against Martin County with an impressive score of 8-0. Leading the charge was Giovanna Waksman, who netted an astounding 5 goals. Along with Waksman, Hope Katz and Jaiden Anderson contributed to the scoreboard with 2 and 1 goals respectively. Addie Buckner made 6 saves to secure the shutout. Pine’s next match is scheduled against Fort Pierce Central on Tuesday at 3:30 PM.
Okeechobee also had a notable performance, defeating Port St. Lucie by a score of 7-1. The team’s next challenge is against John Carroll Catholic on Wednesday at 6 PM.
In another match, Wellington edged out Treasure Coast with a close 2-0 victory. Treasure Coast will look to bounce back on Thursday when they face Viera at 6 PM.
South Fork struggled against a dominant Fort Pierce Central, falling 10-0. South Fork will next play Jupiter Christian on Monday at 5 PM, hoping to turn things around.
Martin County celebrated a convincing win over Lincoln Park Academy with a score of 7-1. The team will play Seminole Ridge on Thursday at 7 PM.
Lastly, John Carroll Catholic claimed a 3-2 win against Master’s Academy. They are set to take on Tradition Prep on Thursday at 6 PM.
