Montville Shows Dominance in Recent High School Sports Roundup

Montville, CT – The Montville High School girls’ soccer team secured a convincing 7-2 victory over Plainfield in their latest match, showcasing their offensive skills throughout the game. The first half proved to be a strong one for Montville, as Allie Kondash scored two goals, and MacKenzie O’Donnell also found the net twice, with a halftime score of 4-1 in their favor.

In the second half, Montville maintained their momentum, with O’Donnell and Kondash each scoring again, bringing their total to two goals each for the game. For Plainfield, the goals were scored by Leila Mendez in the first half and Keriana Heredia in the second half. Despite their efforts, the Plainfield defense was unable to contain Montville’s offense effectively, leading to a total of 20 shots on goal for Montville.

Meanwhile, Lyman Memorial rolled to a dominant 7-0 win against New London, with a halftime score of 5-0. Highlights for Lyman included two goals each from Emily McKelvey and Avery Volle. They displayed a strong offensive strategy and teamwork, with several players contributing to the scoring and assisting plays.

In another exciting matchup, Old Saybrook triumphed over East Hampton with a final score of 4-1. The winning team’s Arianna Fox scored two goals, while Claire Casella and Ainsley Sigersmith added to the tally. Annalis Sarette stood out with three assists, showcasing her supporting role in the game.

Additionally, in a competitive game, Middletown defeated Rockville 3-1, with goals from Tiago Guedes, Seamus Kilkelly, and Andrew Edward. Rockville’s lone goal came from Matthew Woodward.

Finally, Oxford edged out Watertown with a close 2-1 win, thanks to goals from Gavin Shupp and Lucas Arnold, despite an own goal from Oxford adding a twist to the match.
