High School Sports Roundup: Exciting Matchups Across Connecticut
Connecticut high schools were alive with sports action recently, showcasing mesmerizing performances from various teams. In Bethel, the girls’ soccer team triumphed over Morgan 3-1. Bethel’s Laina Caffrey led the scoring with two goals, while Emma Pires added another. Morgan’s lone goal came from Sadie Passante, with Rachel Spaziano providing the assist. Goalkeeper Emma Perrotti of Bethel had a busy day, making 12 saves, while Morgan’s Lili Novicki managed just 2 saves. With this win, Bethel’s record improved to 12-1-3, while Morgan’s stands at 9-3-2.
In another tightly contested match, Greenwich and Staples played to a 2-2 draw. Staples’ Katie Fitzgerald and Natalie Chudowsky found the back of the net, with assists from Annabel Edwards and Willa Shamie.
