The two attended Fresno State at the same time, where Adams attempted to persuade Judge to join the football and basketball teams, referring to him as a player like Blake Griffin. Adams said he pushed hard to get Judge on the basketball court or the football field, but Judge always opted for the batting cages. In hindsight, Adams noted that Judge’s decision to focus on baseball was the right path.
