As the high school football playoffs rolled into their first round, teams from Southeast Texas took to the field on Friday night, providing fans with exciting games and thrilling scores.

The Port Neches-Groves team dominated their matchup against Hallsville, finishing with an impressive score of 43 to 20. This victory boosts their confidence as they move forward in the playoffs.

Port Arthur Memorial put on a show, shutting out Galena Park with a stunning score of 70 to 0. This huge win clearly sets the bar high for their next opponent.

Meanwhile, Nederland showcased their strength by defeating Texarkana with a score of 56 to 14, while Lindale outpaced Little Cypress-Mauriceville with a convincing 49 to 21 victory.

The Silsbee Tigers played fiercely against Brookshire Royal, claiming a strong win of 45 to 6. In a close matchup, Pine Tree managed to edge past Bridge City with a score of 35 to 28.

Kilgore showed their might by overpowering Vidor with a score of 66 to 6. Additionally, Columbia triumphed over Jasper with a score of 56 to 35, while Fairfield squeezed out a narrow win against Orangefield, ending the game at 49 to 42.

In other games, Westwood earned a solid win against Hardin, finishing at 42 to 33, and Newton also had a great performance, beating West Rusk with a score of 60 to 24.

Lastly, Woodville secured a win against Arp with a score of 49 to 20, while Mt. Enterprise took down Deweyville with a final score of 40 to 16.
