High School Basketball Roundup: Nathan Ramus Sparks Appleton North

SUAMICO – In a thrilling basketball matchup, Appleton North managed to edge out Bay Port with a final score of 77-72. The standout performance came from Nathan Ramus, who led his team with an impressive 22 points. Will Sweeney also contributed significantly, adding 18 points to the scoreboard. The game saw Appleton North build a solid four-point lead at halftime and hold on for the victory.

Alongside Ramus and Sweeney, Grant Hardy chipped in 16 points, while Matt Rosplochowski followed closely with 11 points. Despite the loss, Bay Port had four players in double digits, with Sawyer Durkee leading the pack with 19 points. Other strong performances came from Maddox Cornette with 14 points, Mondes Kelly scoring 13 points, and Connor Gering contributing 10 points.

In another close game, Marshfield fought hard against Appleton East, with the latter taking the win at 39-37. Cade Prestigiacomo led the scoring for Appleton East with 14 points, while Brooks Hinson topped Marshfield with 17 points.

Furthermore, Kewaunee had a nail-biter against Wrightstown, where Daniel Buntin hit a crucial free throw with just seconds remaining, pushing the Tigers to a 65-64 overtime win. Ethan Cyra was spectacular for Wrightstown, netting 25 points.
