Geneva, NY – On Wednesday afternoon at Sunset Bowl, Geneva’s bowling teams put on an impressive display, sweeping Wayne Central in both the boys’ and girls’ matches with commanding 5-0 victories. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as players rolled their balls down the lanes despite the cold December weather.
In the boys’ competition, Geneva junior Jayden Jackson led the way with a remarkable series score of 659 pins, which was the highest for the match. His performance not only showcased his skill but also helped the team secure their decisive win. Other standout bowlers included Alex Dorrington, who contributed with a solid score of 462 pins, and Samuel Schading, adding another 483 pins to the team’s total.
Meanwhile, the girls’ side was equally impressive, highlighted by senior Eliciana Wiggins-Gomez who achieved a series of 427 pins. Junior Peyton Taylor also made a significant impact, scoring 473 pins. Their strong performances complemented Megan Gage with a total of 306 pins, ensuring that Geneva remained unstoppable against Wayne Central.
In terms of individual accomplishments, Wayne Central’s top performers included boys’ bowler Owen Cragg who managed to score 575 pins during the match, and girls’ bowler Aubrey Cragg with a score of 432 pins. However, even their efforts weren’t enough to turn the tide against the Geneva teams.
Next up for Geneva’s teams is a match against Mynderse Academy on January 8, 2025. Wayne Central, on the other hand, is set to compete in a tournament at Roseland Bowl on December 26, 2024. With this match behind them, Geneva’s bowlers continue to build momentum as they head into the rest of the season.
