South Carolina beach volleyball team is gearing up for an important weekend as they head down to Boca Raton for Florida Atlantic’s Beach Burrow Bash tournament. The Gamecocks, holding a solid 15-9 record, are on a five-game winning streak and are looking to continue their success in the upcoming tournament.
The tournament, running from Saturday to Sunday, will see the Gamecocks facing off against formidable opponents including No. 14 FIU, No. 16 Stetson, the eighth-ranked host Owls from Florida Atlantic, and Florida Gulf Coast. With a challenging lineup ahead, the Gamecocks are prepared to showcase their skills and determination on the sand.
Junior Kristen Schenck recently made her first career start, adding depth to the team’s roster. The Gamecocks have seen solid performances across the board, with senior Peyton Yamagata demonstrating versatility by playing with her sixth different partner this season. The team’s overall record of 14-8 in the fours reflects their strength and adaptability.
The Gamecocks will be facing tough competition from Florida Atlantic Owls, Florida Gulf Coast Eagles, Florida International Panthers, and Stetson Hatters. Each team presents unique challenges, but the Gamecocks are prepared to give their best on the court and fight for victory.
