This past week in Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana high school football was all about making statements as teams entered Week 7 of the season. With the weather cleared up following the disruptions caused by Hurricane Helene, exciting matchups took center stage. Here’s a look at the results from the notable games played.
Ludlow displayed a strong performance against Bellevue with a final score of 43-0. The Ludlow offense kicked it into high gear in the second half, which allowed the game to run on a clock, as they easily outmatched the Bellevue defense. Quarterback Jackson Mays threw two touchdown passes to Carson Evans, while running back Dameyn Anness scored twice on the ground, ensuring a dominant shutout for Ludlow.
In another impressive showing, Highlands claimed victory over Dixie Heights with a score of 49-0. Rio Litmer shined as he quarterbacked the team to a commanding first-half lead of 35-0, throwing for three touchdowns and running for another. The Highlands defense held Dixie to just 200 total yards, showcasing their strength on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, Covington Catholic continued their winning streak, blanking Grant County 54-0. They scored at will, with standout plays coming from Dylan Gaiser and Cash Harney, both contributing significantly to the scoreboard. CovCath’s defense was tenacious, limiting Grant County to a mere 50 total yards.
Other significant results included Lloyd defeating Newport 39-7 and Mason County overpowering Holmes 60-0. East Central turned in an impressive performance against South Dearborn as well, winning 45-0, further solidifying their comeback after a tough start to the season.
