High School Soccer Honors Recognize Top Players This Season
This year has been a remarkable season for high school soccer, as various players stepped up to make their mark across the state. In the Eastern AA Boys division, the standout player was Ezekiel Leighton, a junior forward from Bozeman Gallatin, who was named the Player of the Year. He made a significant impact on his team’s performance throughout the season.
The All-State selections featured several talented players, including senior goalkeeper Brennan Ellis from Billings West and sophomore forward Kevin Kershaw from Billings Senior. Other notable mentions included Calvin Paczkowski and Colter Garpestad, who earned their spots for their impressive contributions to their teams.
In the Girls division, Maya Bossenbrook, a senior forward from Bozeman, took home the Player of the Year award. The All-State roster featured an array of impressive players such as Karly Jordan, a goalkeeper from Bozeman, and Lucy Al-Chokhachy, another star forward from Bozeman, who continued to elevate the girls’ game.
Moving west, Brady Reed from Missoula Hellgate was named the Boys Player of the Year in the Western AA division. Missoula Hellgate dominated the All-State choices with players making up a significant portion of the list. Several of his teammates, including Hank Shattuck and Miles Shefloe, received All-State honors, showcasing the team’s depth and talent.
The Girls Player of the Year accolade went to Liv Thorne-Thomsen from Missoula Hellgate. Her skill and determination on the field made her a standout in a highly competitive division.
Overall, this season saw many dedicated players and teams striving to make their mark in Montana high school soccer, which continues to thrive and attract a dedicated fan base. As the season wraps up, the excitement and anticipation for next year’s competition have already begun.
