Pond Branch, SC – 04/10/2024

Candidates meet communities in May forum event

Ensuring stronger ties between law enforcement and the communities they serve, the Pond Branch Community Crime Watch has announced plans to host a forum involving all candidates for the position of Lexington County Sheriff. This meeting is presently scheduled to take place on May 23, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. According to Bob Hall, an organizer for the group, the event will be held at the Pond Branch Methodist Church Activity Building.

Location

The venue is conveniently situated at 1908 Pond Branch Road, Gilbert, just off I-20 at exit 44, opposite the side of the interstate from the 44 Truck Stop.

All Candidates Confirmed to Attend

According to the information provided by Bob Hall, via an April 10, 2024, email, all four candidates who have filed to run have responded affirmatively and plan to attend the forum. These include candidate Garry Rozier. Despite some questions circling about whether Rozier has resided in Lexington County for the required length of time, he remains determined to participate in the forum.

Candidate Garry Rozier

Rozier has retained an attorney to investigate these concerns. He expressed his hopes on Tuesday that he will be featured on the June 11th Republican ballot. Emphasizing his commitment, he stated that even if he is excluded from the ballot, he will continue to seek the position as an independent candidate.
