Columbia Welcomes 1624 Bistro: A Fresh New Spot for Breakfast and Lunch
Columbia, are you ready for a delightful addition to your dining scene? The much-anticipated 1624 Bistro has opened its doors on Main Street, bringing a breath of fresh culinary air to the neighborhood! With plenty of grab-and-go options and counter service available, this charming eatery is geared towards locals on the move.
Convenience Meets Flavor
Located at 1624 Main St., right next to The Venue and across from The Nick, 1624 Bistro is the latest venture from the LTC Hospitality Group. David Turner, the vice president of marketing and events at LTC, shared how the concept came to life. “We did an audit of what’s available and walkable on Main Street. We realized we didn’t have a place that fit this specific need,” he explained. “It’s on-the-go, friendly, fast service, and healthy food. For working professionals that are in the area, it’s exactly what they need.”
Building a Space for Community
LTC isn’t new to Main Street; the group is known for its collection of eateries like the restaurant-bowling alley The Grand, Japanese-inspired Hanabi Hibachi and Sushi, and the vibrant tapas bar The Robinson Room. With six distinct concepts sprouting within just a mile, it’s clear that LTC is committed to enhancing the local dining experience.
Chef Josh Rogerson is at the helm of 1624 Bistro’s menu, and he’s injecting some fun and flair with a pan-European twist. “I was feeling nostalgic about growing up in Italy, which inspired this menu. We’re playing with familiar ideas but using different core ingredients,” he remarked. His goal is to create a menu that feels both innovative and comforting.
A Go-To Stop for Busy Bees
One of Chef Rogerson’s favorite features is the grab-and-go menu, which includes crowd-pleasers like pimento cheese, grain salads, and a rotating selection of sandwiches. “It’s tailored for those bustling between meetings or grabbing a quick lunch. People can just pop in, grab their meals, and head back out without missing a beat,” he noted.
As the team gets into the groove of their soft opening, Turner expressed appreciation for the customers’ patience during these initial days. “We’re discovering what works and what doesn’t, and it’s part of the fun. We’re grateful to everyone coming in to give us a try,” he said.
First Time Visitors, Here’s Your Guide
Feeling a bit overwhelmed by the menu options? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Here are two must-try items that will make your first visit memorable:
