Columbia’s Got Christmas Spirit: Join the Festivities at the Governor’s Mansion!
Columbia, S.C. – Get ready to deck the halls and spread some holiday cheer because this coming Monday, December 9, the Governor’s Mansion is throwing a festive Christmas Open House, and everyone is invited! From 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, families in and around Columbia can come together to celebrate the season and enjoy a heartwarming evening.
A Night Full of Festivities!
In what promises to be a delightful evening, guests will be greeted by none other than Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus themselves! Imagine the joy on the children’s faces as they meet the jolly couple, setting the perfect tone for a magical evening. But that’s not all! The event will feature some incredible musical entertainment, with talented singers Trudy Wilson and Rhoda Paschal performing delightful Christmas tunes, accompanied by the soothing sounds of harpist Cayli Boyle. Sounds like a great way to get into the holiday spirit!
Yummy Treats Await!
As if the fantastic entertainment wasn’t enough, the First Family is also serving up some scrumptious light refreshments to warm your belly. Enjoy hot chocolate, delectable cookies, and classic candy canes – just like the ones you salivate over during the holidays. It’s a perfect way to mingle with neighbors and make new friends while enjoying the sweet treats of the season.
Make a Paws-itive Impact!
In the true spirit of giving this holiday season, guests are encouraged (though not required) to bring along pet supplies as a donation for Pawmetto Lifeline. Consider bringing dog or cat food, litter, or toys to help our furry friends in need. What a wonderful way to add some extra warmth to the holidays by giving back to our community!
A Glittering Wonderland!
The festive decorations will be nothing short of breathtaking! The talented members of the Columbia Garden Club have been hard at work decorating the Governor’s Mansion since earlier this week. Look forward to seeing beautiful Christmas trees sourced from Penland Christmas Tree Farm in York, S.C., and stunning poinsettias provided by the students of the Gilbert High School Future Farmers of America. And if that doesn’t catch your eye, a gingerbread house replicating Charleston’s iconic Pineapple Fountain will be on display for all to admire!
Guided Tours of the Mansion!
But wait, there’s more! If you can’t make it to the Open House, you’re in luck! The mansion will also be offering docent-guided Christmas tours on December 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, and 19. Tours will run at 10:00 AM, 10:30 AM, and 11:00 AM, giving you a chance to soak in the festive décor and history of this grand home. These tours are free of charge, but you will need to make a reservation. Just give a call to 803-737-1710 or hop online at scgovernorsmansion.org to secure your spot.
