Columbia Shines Bright with Sunshine and Community Spirit

A Golden Opportunity to Give Back
Speaking of wonderful days, Columbia has kicked off a season of giving with the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Honor the Dream Food Drive. Organized by the City of Columbia, the Richland School District One, and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Foundation, this fantastic initiative started on November 11 and will continue until December 9. It’s all about honoring the incredible legacy of Dr. King, focused on community service and helping those in need.
The food drive aims to benefit Harvest Hope Food Bank, an organization that does amazing work providing food to those facing hunger in our communities. What can you do to help? Well, if you’re planning a grocery run or have some extra items at home, consider donating some of the requested items, which include:
- Canned fruits and vegetables
- Dry goods (pasta, rice, beans, etc.)
- Canned meats (tuna, chicken, etc.)
