Hey there, Columbia! With the holiday season in full swing, our charming Main Street District is all decked out and ready for some festive fun. This December, you can engage in a thrilling scavenger hunt that’s sure to bring out your inner detective. What are we hunting for, you ask? Well, it’s none other than over 20 hidden elves scattered throughout various local businesses in the district!
Join the Elf Adventure!
Gather your friends, family, or co-workers, and head out to search for these cheeky little elves. It’s a great way to embrace the holiday spirit while exploring what our local vendors have to offer. Plus, there’s an exciting giveaway element to make things even more enticing!
Here’s the lowdown on how it works: After you spot an elf within a participating business, snap a photo of it and post it on your Instagram story. Make sure to tag both @MainStColaSC and the business where you found the elf. Quick reminder—you’ll need to be following both accounts to qualify for the giveaway!
The best part? You can keep entering as you find more elves! Yes, that’s right! The more elves you discover, the greater your chances are of winning fabulous gift cards to those participating businesses.

Columbia’s Main Street District is pulling out all the stops for this inaugural Elf on a Shelf scavenger hunt. Kelsey Bickley, the District’s Director of Marketing, is buzzing with excitement: “We’re thrilled to have such a good mix of businesses participating in this inaugural Elf on a Shelf scavenger hunt,” she shared. “Our goal is to generate some buzz on social media, promote the district as a holiday destination, and to just have some fun with our merchants and the general public this holiday season.”
