Columbia Duo Selected for Arnold Palmer Cup

NORMAN, Okla. – Junior All-Americans Hannah Darling and Louise Rydqvist have been chosen to represent Team International in the prestigious 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup.

This year’s event is set to take place from July 5-7 at Lahinch Golf Club in Lahinch, Ireland. Darling and Rydqvist, both from the University of South Carolina, will be making their debuts in this renowned amateur tournament.

Both players have been instrumental in the success of the Gamecocks women’s golf team, helping secure four victories this season and a No. 2 national ranking. The team is expected to earn another No. 1 seed as they await the NCAA Women’s Golf Selection Show airing Wednesday afternoon on Golf Channel.

Rydqvist, who recently clinched the SEC runner-up medal, is currently ranked 10th in the Clippd Player Rankings. She boasts a stellar season with a scoring average of 70.78 and four top-five finishes. In match play, she remains undefeated at 7-0-1.

Darling, a two-time WGCA First Team All-American, is currently ranked 19th in the Clippd Player Rankings and 15th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. With a scoring average of 71.21, she has consistently performed well throughout her collegiate career, securing 17 top-10 finishes in 29 career stroke play starts over the past three seasons.

About the Arnold Palmer Cup

The Arnold Palmer Cup, co-founded by Arnold Palmer and the Golf Coaches Association of America in 1997, is a Ryder Cup-style tournament featuring top men’s and women’s university/college golfers from the United States and International teams. Since its inception, over 125 former Arnold Palmer Cup alumni have gone on to earn cards on professional tours.

This year’s international team selections for the 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup include players from various universities around the world such as France, Spain, Denmark, Mexico, and more.
