Columbia’s Downtown Welcomes a New Mexican Fiesta!
Hey there, Columbia residents! We have some exciting news for your taste buds and dining options. If you’ve been craving a spot to indulge in delicious Mexican cuisine, you’re in for a treat. A brand-new eatery named Que! Bueno Mexican Bar and Grill is heading to the heart of downtown Columbia, specifically at 1467 Sumter St.. It looks like your next lunch break and after-work margarita stop will soon be here!
The Perfect Location
This soon-to-be hot spot is nestled right along a bustling corridor dotted with several other popular restaurants and businesses, including Greek Boys and Sound Bites Eatery. It seems to be a prime spot for lunch-goers and dinner divas alike! The new Que! Bueno will take over the space that used to house a Pizza Hut, which has since moved to Forest Drive earlier this year. So, it seems like it was meant to be—a perfect spot for a fresh start!
What’s on the Menu?
While we’re still waiting for the grand opening date to be announced, we can’t hold back our excitement! If you’ve visited any of the other Que! Bueno locations, you know you’re in for a fantastic experience. This rising star in the Midlands area has already made quite a name for itself. Originally debuting in 2022 with a tastebud-tingling location at 7320 Broad River Road in Irmo, and quickly following up in 2023 with another spot on 407 North Lake Drive in Lexington, they are definitely on a roll!
The Irmo and Lexington eateries are known for their traditional, sit-down dining experience that captures the flavors of authentic Mexican cuisine. Just think of mouth-watering tacos, sizzling fajitas, and maybe a few surprise dishes that will leave you wanting more. But that’s not all! In August, Que! Bueno launched a delightful little ice cream shop and snack bar at 2213 Augusta Road in West Columbia, featuring some delicious Mexican delights like street corn, banana splits, and refreshing aguas frescas.

Commercial real estate firm DeWees, which is working with Que! Bueno, is just as thrilled about this development as we are! Sam DeWees, the broker-in-charge, expressed their excitement by stating, “We absolutely love Que!
