The Wildcats set the tone early with a run in the first inning, but the Gamecocks responded strongly in the bottom of the inning, scoring six runs with key hits from Kennedy Jones and Dalton Reeves. However, Kentucky staged an impressive comeback with five runs each in the fourth and fifth innings, taking a commanding lead.

Carolina fought back with a three-run home run from Cole Messina in the sixth inning, followed by a late surge that brought them within striking distance. Blake Jackson and Parker Noland contributed to the rally, but a stellar defensive play by Kentucky’s Nolan McCarthy sealed the win for the Wildcats.
