CHAPIN, S.C. — The Chapin High School Eagles have a new leader for their football program, as Ryan Cole was officially introduced as the head coach on Tuesday afternoon. Cole, who previously served as the team’s defensive coordinator, steps into this role following the retirement of longtime coach Justin Gentry last week.
During his introduction, Cole expressed his enthusiasm about taking on this new challenge. “I think it’s always been the job for me,” he stated. “I was at a point in my career where I thought this opportunity had passed me by.” His passion and commitment to the team suggest a strong future for the Eagles under his guidance.
The Eagles football team kicked off their Spring practice on the same day as Cole’s announcement. This marks an important time for both the players and the coaching staff as they begin to prepare for the upcoming season. Cole’s experience and familiarity with the team are expected to foster a sense of continuity as they adapt to this change in leadership.
Justin Gentry, who held the head coaching position for many years, left a significant mark on the program. His recent retirement comes with a legacy of dedication and success, which Cole aims to build upon. The transition might seem daunting, but with Cole’s passion and the Eagles’ solid groundwork, the focus is now on maintaining the team’s competitive edge in upcoming seasons.
The Chapin community is looking forward to supporting their Eagles as they embark on this new journey with Coach Ryan Cole at the helm. With practices underway, the team is optimistic and eager to show what they can accomplish under their new coach.
