Baseball Picks Up Tuesday Night Win at The Citadel
The University of South Carolina baseball team secured a 4-3 victory over The Citadel on Tuesday night (April 16) at Joe Riley Park. The Gamecocks put on an impressive performance, scoring early runs and finishing strong to claim the win.

The Gamecocks took the lead with three runs in the early innings. Ethan Petry’s triple drove in the first run, followed by Dalton Reeves’ single to extend the lead. Kennedy Jones added another run with a sacrifice fly to make it 3-0.
The Citadel responded with two runs in the bottom of the third, but Will Tippett’s solo home run in the seventh inning extended Carolina’s lead. The Citadel managed to score one more run, but the Gamecocks’ solid defense held them off in the ninth inning to secure the win.
Parker Marlatt picked up the win in relief, with Garrett Gainey closing out the game for his sixth save of the season. Tippett led the offense, going 2-for-3 at the plate with his third home run of the year.
