Arlington High Schools Prepare for Action-Packed Week of Sports Events

Exciting Week Ahead for Arlington High School Sports

Arlington, VA is looking forward to a busy week filled with high school sports action. This Friday night, October 18, three high school football games will kick off at 7 p.m., showcasing local teams as they battle on the field.

Fans can catch Yorktown as they take on Langley at the Langley High School stadium, while Wakefield visits Marshall. In another away game, Bishop O’Connell will make a trip to St. Mary’s Ryken to face off against the team there.

In addition to football, the spotlight is on the Liberty District girls field hockey tournament, with precise times and teams still to be determined. There’s also the qualifying event for the upcoming Virginia High School League’s Girls State Open Golf tournament, set to take place in Clifton starting at 10 a.m.

This week is also big for cross country, with both the Washington-Liberty and Bishop O’Connell teams participating in a significant showcase meet on Saturday at 10 a.m., which promises to feature strong competition.

Throughout the week, several teams from Washington-Liberty, Yorktown, Wakefield, and Bishop O’Connell will also be active in various sports. Check the schedule for girls soccer, girls volleyball, girls tennis, and more as the student-athletes strive for victory.
