2024 Vermont High School Fall Sports Season Kicks Off with Thrilling Football Action

This week marked the beginning of the 2024 Vermont high school fall sports season, with exciting games in a variety of sports including soccer, field hockey, volleyball, golf, and cross-country running. Teams across the state showcased their skills, setting the stage for an action-packed season ahead.

In girls’ soccer, the University of Vermont team continued to impress, claiming a decisive 7-0 victory over Dartmouth. Star players included Sophia Drees, who scored 3 goals and provided 1 assist, while Lotte Kanters4-6 overall after achieving a second successive shutout. Meanwhile, North Country defeated Missisquoi 3-1, with Kayla Graves

In field hockey, Harwood secured a narrow 1-0 win over Montpelier, thanks to a goal from Maisy Gendimencio, while goalkeeper Camille Edgecomb7-3. Glenna Westbrook

Additionally, the volleyball teams started strong, with South Burlington defeating Burlington in straight sets, showcasing their skills with scores of 25-18, 25-11, and 25-17.
