Luke Doty, Alex Huntley and Debo Williams, along with fourth-year head coach Shane Beamer, will represent South Carolina Football at the annual SEC Media Days, the Southeastern Conference announced today.
Luke Doty
Doty, a 6-1, 218-pound redshirt senior, is listed as an “athlete” as he splits time working at both quarterback and wide receiver. The Myrtle Beach, S.C. product has played in 30 career games with eight starts, six at quarterback and two at wide receiver. He has completed 60.8 percent of his passes (141-for-232) for 1,543 yards with nine TDs, has rushed 82 times for 173 yards and two scores, and has 13 pass receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown. He received the South Carolina Spirit Award for the offense in the spring. He graduated in December with a degree in psychology.
Alex Huntley
Huntley, a 6-4, 303-pound redshirt senior defensive tackle from Blythewood, S.C., is a veteran leader of the defense. Nicknamed “Boogie,” Huntley was named a permanent team captain following the 2023 team. He has appeared in 37 career outings with 14 starts, collecting 66 tackles with 6.0 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks. He graduated in May with a degree in sport and entertainment management.
Debo Williams
Like Huntley, Williams is a returning team captain. The 6-1, 232-pounder from Smyrna, Del., earned All-SEC recognition in 2023 after recording 113 tackles, the most by a Gamecock since the 2002 season. The redshirt senior linebacker has played in 38 career games for the Gamecocks with 14 career starts. He has logged 162 career tackles including 13.5 tackles for loss with 2.5 sacks, four pass breakups, and seven quarterback hurries. He graduated in May with a degree in mass communications.
SEC Media Days Appearance
The Gamecocks will appear at SEC Media Days on Monday, July 15, at the Omni Dallas Hotel.
