Coastal Carolina University Introduces New Athletic Director
CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina University has officially welcomed Chance Miller as its new Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics and University Recreation. Miller, who previously served as senior deputy athletics director at the University of South Carolina, expressed his excitement for the opportunity during a press conference held on Tuesday morning.
New Leadership for CCU Athletics
At the press conference, Miller shared his enthusiasm for leading the Chanticleers, stating, “I saw and felt the passion of where you guys want to go. You want to build. You want to innovate. And you want to move this place forward in a direction it has not been, and I’m excited for that.” Miller’s appointment comes after the departure of Matt Hogue, who is now involved in launching a new sports broadcasting center on the university’s campus.
Responsibilities and Vision
As the new athletic director, Miller will oversee CCU’s athletics program, which includes 19 sports, nearly 200 coaches and staff members, and more than 550 student-athletes. In addition to providing leadership for University Recreation, Sports Turf and Golf Course Operations, and Teal Nation retail, Miller is expected to bring a fresh perspective and vision to the university’s athletic department.
Exciting Developments on the Horizon
Coastal Carolina University President also unveiled plans for a new 8,000-seat arena at the university, signaling a new era of growth and development for CCU’s sports facilities. The introduction of Chance Miller as the new athletic director aligns with the university’s commitment to advancing its athletic programs and providing opportunities for student-athletes to excel both on and off the field.
