Gainesville: Gamecocks Baseball Secures Series-Opening Victory at Florida
The University of South Carolina baseball team showcased a dominant performance as they secured a series-opening win against No. 24 Florida at Condron Family Ballpark. The Gamecocks delivered an impressive 10-3 victory on Friday night, thanks to a stellar pitching display from Eli Jones and a strong offensive effort.
Strong Pitching Performance
Eli Jones took the mound for the Gamecocks and delivered six solid innings, striking out six batters while only allowing one run on five hits. Chris Veach came in to close out the final two innings, not allowing a hit and picking up his second save of the year.

The Gamecocks’ offense was firing on all cylinders, racking up 13 hits on the night. Cole Messina led the charge with three hits, while Parker Noland, Talmadge LeCroy, Gavin Casas, and Will Tippett each contributed two hits apiece.
