Columbia Golfer Harris One Shot Back Thru 36 Holes

Redshirt sophomore fires pair of red numbers Monday; Gamecocks sit T-14th with Arkansas State at 14-over

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Redshirt sophomore Frankie Harris continued his standout play with two under par rounds on Monday in the opening 36 holes of the Tiger Invitational. The talented transfer shot 67 (-4) and 68 (-3) and sits just one shot back of leaders Jack Lundin of Missouri and Dominic Clemons of Stetson. Harris and Lundin battled it out at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate two weeks ago as Lundin prevailed on the third playoff hole to take home medalist honors.

Harris has been one of the team’s most consistent performers all season with 18 rounds of par or better now in 22 rounds played this season. His 71.05 scoring average is second behind only junior Nathan Franks (70.72), who has won twice but is out due to injury currently.

As a team, the Gamecocks sit T-14th at 14 over for the event with rounds of 290 (+6) and 292 (+8) today at The Club at Old Hawthorne. Sixth year Lansdon Robbins is playing as an individual this week. He had a nice second round today with a 1-under 70, which included three birdies and an eagle.

Central Arkansas holds the 36-hole team lead by five shots at 15-under. San Francisco is in second at 10-under and the host Tigers are third at 9-under. Live scoring is available again for the final round on Tuesday via Golf Genius.
