University of South Carolina Uniting for Give 4 Garnet
College campuses are full of community. And that couldn’t be more true for the University of South Carolina (USC). There is a tradition that keeps that community strong.
On Wednesday, March 20, for one day, eight hours, and one minute, communities will come together and change lives for those who deserve it most. “It’s a day where all the communities that we serve can come together to make their philanthropic support of what they believe in,” said Executive Director of Annual Giving, Cameron Hall.
Give 4 Garnet is an annual donation campaign where USC students, faculty, alumni, and everything in between, have a chance to raise money for causes they care most about. The demographics range from programs to colleges, and teams. “This is a day that makes a big impact on the university,” said Hall.
Supporting Students Like Never Before
As campaigning events fill the streets of the campus, there are some students whose lives were forever changed by the program. Noah Raganschmalz, a first-year pharmacy student, spent nearly a decade working on nuclear systems as part of a submarine crew in the U.S. Navy. Raganschmalz is pursuing his goal of becoming a community pharmacist through the support of Give 4 Garnet’s scholarship funds. “The donors are quite literally making people’s dreams come true,” said Raganschmalz. “They’re helping unconventional students like me do things we never thought we could do.”
Making Dreams a Reality
Give 4 Garnet is not just a fundraising initiative; it is a testament to the power of community and generosity. The University of South Carolina continues to unite its diverse community to support causes that matter most, breaking barriers and making dreams a reality for students like Raganschmalz.
