Hilton Head Island, S.C. – No. 5 Gamecocks T-5th With No. 4 LSU at Darius Rucker Intercollegiate
The University of South Carolina women’s golf team finds themselves in a tie for fifth place with No. 4 LSU after 36 holes of the 2024 Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at Long Cove Club. The Gamecocks posted a 6-over 290 on another challenging day of scoring at the Pete Dye-designed course.
Leading the charge for Carolina was junior All-American Hannah Darling, who surged up the leaderboard with an impressive 5-under 66. Darling, a native of Midlothian, Scotland, finished strong with five birdies in her final seven holes, propelling her to a tie for second place at 4-under for the tournament.
Team Standings and Individual Performances
Carolina’s performance was bolstered by junior Louise Rydqvist’s round of 72 (+1) and solid contributions from freshmen Vairana Heck (75, +4) and Maylis Lamour (78, +7). Despite the challenging conditions, the team remains within striking distance of the leaders as they head into the final round.
Only three teams are under par after 36 holes, with Carolina and a few others still within reach with a strong showing on the last day. However, inclement weather is expected to impact play, with early morning rain followed by the possibility of scattered thunderstorms throughout the day.

Golf Channel will provide live TV coverage of the final round from 2:30-5:30 p.m. (ET), with a replay airing later in the evening. With Hannah Darling and the Gamecocks in contention, the stage is set for an exciting finish at the 2024 Darius Rucker Intercollegiate.
